Sorry no juicy industry news to share here, just Boucheron’s completely purr-fect new fine jewelry collection. (Also: cat puns.)
It’s an ode to Wladimir, the French maison’s favorite feline, who has served as a good luck charm, mascot, and muse since the OG, now departed black cat was adopted by the Boucheron family in the 1970s. It is said that he used to watch over 26 Place Vendôme, the firm’s address in Paris.
Wladimir made his first appearance in Boucheron’s Paris, vu du 26 high jewelry collection in 2019, and now lends his exquisitely chiseled feline form, intense sapphire eyes, and luxurious diamond-set Persian coat to the fine jewelry range. Included are rings, pendants, and a deluxe pearl and diamond necklace with a detachable brooch/pendant (pictured below).
In the collection lookbook, as modeled by brand ambassador Alexa Chung, Wladimir is positioned as a symbolic totem, one that projects a slinky air of sensuality, agility, independence, and the fiercest kind of femininity.
The majesty of Wladimir—and of cats in general—is expressed in the pieces that have le petit chat wearing collars of tsavorites, sapphires, or diamonds. And on some of the jewels pink lacquer is used for the tip his nose, a detail that’s paws-itively adorable!
More pieces to stalk from the collection below. Meow!
Top: The Wladimir, the Cat brooch—in 18k white gold with tanzanite, sapphire, mother-of-pearl, quartz, and pink lacquer—can also be worn as a pendant. Price on request
